The Village of Sugar Grove is a western suburb of Chicago located approx 42 miles outside of the City. Incorporated in 1957,  Sugar Grove was predominantly a farming community until the early 1960’s when residential development began on the east side of Route 47.

Due to the rural area and ample farmland, the small community hosted a gathering for the purpose of raising funds. From that, the first Corn Broil was born in 1967; corn grown and harvested by members of the community were cooked and boiled using a steam engine. The corn broil has evolved into a four-day festival with an average attendance of 35,000. 2017 marked the 50th anniversary of the Sugar Grove Corn Boil. Sugar Grove is also home to Waubonsee Community College campus, the Aurora Municipal Airport, and two golf courses! Sugar Grove offers beautiful Forest Preserves and many small and medium-sized businesses. Sugar Grove is a great area for commuter families to the Aurora or the Chicago area.
