How much longer do we have to get our house/fence/deck/etc. softwashed before it is too cold?
What are those dirty spots on the side of my house?
The discoloration you see may not be a simple stain or dirt but rather a living “infection.” The dirt and dust that accumulates on siding and roofs create a nutrient-rich environment for bacteria, mold, mildew, algae, fungus and other micro-organisms.
What are those black streaks on my roof?
Those black streaks and stains aren’t just ugly, they are bacteria that is feeding on your shingles. Those organisms are eating away at your shingles, which is causing your roof to deteriorate prematurely. Removing the algae, mold, mildew and bacteria build-up will improve the life of your roof. Those black streaks can also be contributing to increased energy costs for your home. Black absorbs the sun’s heat, removing those dark stains may help keep your energy costs down this summer.
Replacing your roof can be costly, having it cleaned is a fraction of the cost and is worth it.
Can the bacteria, algae, moss, etc. damage my roof?
Yes, it can. Roofs that are untreated could lose up to 50% of its expected life. Those streaks are actually bacteria eating the limestone in the shingles, causing erosion. This bacteria weakens the shingles causing granular loss and discoloration. This damage will shorten the life of the roof and the granular loss reduces reflection of the sun, which can cause increased energy bills.
Is cleaning the roof just a cosmetic fix?
Absolutely not. While a clean roof definitely provides great curb appeal, having the roof cleaned will extend its life. In fact, the Asphalt Shingle Manufacturers Association recommends periodic cleaning of roof shingles. SoftWash is the only method the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association recommends.
Will the water pressure damage my roof?
It will not. We do not pressure wash we SoftWash. The water pressure is no stronger than a garden hose. The specialized chemicals we use are what cleans the roof.
Are your workers trained and/or insured?
Yes, our workers are GoodStewards and are fully insured and SoftWash Systems Authorized.
Is the cleaning solution you use harmful?
Our chemicals are 100% biodegradable and safe for surrounding vegetation.
What is the difference between pressure/power washing and soft washing?
Soft washing is a chemical cleaning process that kills the mildew, fungus, algae, etc. Pressure washing uses force to remove the contaminates.
Soft washing is safer and easier on the item being cleaned as it does not require potentially damaging water pressure to clean.
